Building on topics from PRDS 165 Event Planning - Theory and Practice, this course offers more hands-on experience in planning seminars, conferences, fundraisers and galas. Ask anyone in the field and they will tell you that the success of these events lies in the details. This course will prepare you to plan and handle the logistics entailed in producing and running a successful event. Over 12 sessions, you will cover all aspects of the event planning process including logistics, project management, arranging transportation and accommodation, advanced food and beverage service, staffing, coordinating volunteers, protocol for dignitaries, etiquette, staging, booking keynote speakers and entertainment, as well as crisis planning. This course is essential for anyone looking to specialize in the area of event planning.
Prerequisite(s): PRDS 105 Public Relations - Introduction and PRDS 165 Event Planning - Theory and Practice
Credential: This course is eligible for Event Management Certificate.
