The upgrading program, taken through the Writing Centre, is a full-term course for WRIT students who did not pass the final proficiency exam. Below is a brief description of the program and writing assignment ? College Writing Skills (WRIT 100): Expository and Persuasive essays ? Technical Communications (WRIT 120): Summaries, Expanded Definitions, and Instructions Each week, students meet their tutor to discuss the structure, content, and grammar of their writing assignments. After attending all tutorial sessions and successfully completing the assignments, students are eligible to take a new version of the final proficiency exam.
